Jardín de La Emperatriz Tinto 2021 has surpassed any previous vintage in terms of scores and evaluations from the world’s wine critics, making it the most highly regarded vintage to date. Among the ratings received are 92 points from Robert Parker, 93 points from James Suckling, and 91 points from Tim Atkin. This renowned entry-level red wine is the result of a careful combination of 65 and 25 year old vines, which add balance, depth and freshness to its profile.
Made mainly from Tempranillo, this vintage is able to show the aromatic exuberance of the Garnacha, which brings freshness, complementing the personality of the Tempranillo. In addition, its 14 months in French and American oak barrels provide a sublime balance to its fruity and floral character, and highlight its complexity, reflecting the geographical peculiarities of the estate. A fine and elegant Crianza with notes of black and red fruits. All of this is accompanied by violets that are complemented by spicy and balsamic notes from its ageing.

This new exceptional vintage of El Jardín de la Emperatriz Tinto comes from a unique plot, together with the three decades of experience of the Hernáiz brothers – Eduardo and Víctor – and it also comes with a remarkable novelty: a change of image in terms of label, colour and design. With this restyling, the new Jardín de La Emperatriz undoubtedly gains in sophistication and elegance.
The bottle of El Jardín de la Emperatriz Tinto 2021 recovers its hallmark, the iconic cameo of the Empress, along with more sober colours than those of the previous bottle. The new design provides greater visual coherence with its older siblings Finca La Emperatriz, the reserves of the range. The image of the entire collection of the four wine references from this plot is thus homogenised.
