THE VINEYARDS OF EL PEDAL

Terroir

El Pedal range is made exclusively with grapes from the family’s own vineyards in the Iregua Valley, specifically in the villages of Hornos de Moncalvillo, Navarrete and Fuenmayor. The first two are located in the foothills of the Sierra de Moncalvillo.

 

The selected grapes that give rise to El Pedal Tempranillo, the red, and El Pedal Viura, the white, come from goblet-trained vines with an average age of 35 years, and located at an altitude between 450 and 600 meters.

 

The soils of these estates are reddish, cold and clay-ferrous, with a high clay and iron content, which leads to slow and late ripening, resulting in fresh and fruity wines.
