This is Eduardo’s and Víctor’s famous entry-level red wine, made from a brilliant combination of old vines and some of the youngest plots on Finca La Emperatriz, which are already 25 years old.
El Jardín de La Emperatriz Tinto is mainly made from Tempranillo, which in this 2020 vintage is supported by the floral notes of Garnacha and the smoothness of Viura. Its 15 months in oak barrels give it a perfect balance of freshness and fruitiness..
The result is a fine and elegant red wine, with notes of red and black fruits to which, in this new vintage, floral hints of violets and spicy and balsamic touches are added. Gastronomically, this is a very versatile wine that goes well with a wide variety of dishes, from the simplest – such as tapas, cold meats and cheeses – to the most elaborate, with white and red meats and even grilled fish.
Tasting El Jardín de La Emperatriz Tinto 2020 with Eduardo Hernáiz.
A new vintage that shows the unique sense of belonging of the estate’s wines, with character and personality, and a great respect for the uniqueness of its vineyard. Because a wine must above all express its origin and the people behind it. And after almost three decades at the helm, there is no doubt that the brothers Eduardo and Víctor have managed to breathe authenticity into Finca La Emperatriz, making this vineyard the soul of all their wines.
